I shall look forward to receiving your paper on vision for your revamped Police Advanced Riding website. Mike McArthur-Christie of the ABD emailed me to say that he thinks your video is excellent -- as, indeed, do I!Alan
This is an excellent picture showing how using the house over the brow gives us so much information. Even though we are unable to see over the brow the house clearly shows the angle of the bend out of our view.
The advanced warning sign indicating a junction. This gives us plenty of time to consider our position taking into account the brow and severity of the bend and view into the bend.
The wall on the righthand side is an outstanding visual point. We are able to get distance and movement to confirm what the house frontage is showing us.
We can also use the movement and angles of moving vehicles to confirm the severity of bends. As you can see there are long broken white lines on the road which indicate a restricted view and or junctions. This is most helpful if you are not familiar with the location. The lines would also be very helpful in adverse weather conditions and in the hours of darkness.
